About Tetbury Town Football Club
From Strength to Strength
Founded in 1900 the club currently fields three senior Saturday teams in the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League, the Stroud & District League and Cirencester & District League. The club also runs numerous youth teams ranging from 9 - 16 years of age and a thriving Ladies team that plays in the Gloucestershire County Women's League. With in excess of 250 members TTFC is the largest sports club in the town and has ambitious plans to grow further with the proposed development of the Preston Park facility on Cirencester Road The club's early history is not known but after the Second War the First team played in the Northern Senior League until the mid-1970s achieving Division Two Runners Up on two occasions in 1955-56 and again in 1959-60.
Progression continues within the club particularly within the Youth Section where the decision made five years ago to put effort and resources into our youth football is now producing the quality and numbers of good talented young footballers we hoped it would. At senior level the coaching headed up by Phil Seal is giving the players development, fitness and agility levels that have certainly been of a huge benefit. The facilities have also been improved with a new storage container for kit and equipment, new furniture has been acquired in the clubhouse and the changing rooms and showers at the Recreation Ground have been redecorated. The development of the Preston Park Ground on Cirencester Road has moved on this year, an architect has been employed and drawings have been submitted to the Cotswold District Council
